Sponsorships

Dear current, potential or future sponsor who made it this far, let’s start with who we are!

Hello, we are FIRST Tech Challenge (FTC) Team Mittens #26339 a high school robotics team currently highlighting 2 mentors and 6 members. We are currently in our rookie year joining FTC in their Into the Deep season. So far we’ve participated in 4 league competitions reaching a high score of 161 points only a bit shy from the Mary Jackson league high score of 172. Currently we have dropped out of the on season Texas events but don’t plan to stop our robot iterations just yet. As you may have seen from our seasons page we are currently working on designing a robot using advanced computer algorithms such as odometry and AI webcams to speed up our robot in achieving its goal to attend prestigious off season events such as MTI, CRI and more. Read more about our season and portfolio here.

What is FIRST and FTC?

For the Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology (FIRST) is a worldwide prestigious robotics organization featuring yearly challenges to encourage and pave the way for high school students to participate and shape their future in STEM. Our team focuses on their FIRST Tech Challenge (FTC) program as it’s a program that challenges our team to push technology to its limits. This year with the partner of their long time partner FIRST had created a challenge to mirror the cleaning up of the oceans creating a game to excite high schoolers as well as teach real world lessons on how to better the environment. First helps students with many soft, hard, general and niche skills that include: Mechanical engineering, CAD, designing, programming, developing public relationships, creating events for young children, public speaking, presenting, journaling, fundraising, writing, machining, 3D printing, team building and so so much more!

Why We Need Your Help!

As a high school team we don’t have our own funds to support our journey, here’s a quick highlight of our major expenses and why we need them.

    • This cost comes from purchasing tools and hardware that serves as the backbone for our robots. This can range from drawer slides to screws to allen keys.
  • Electronics – $1000.
    • This cost comes from the mandated FTC electronics that all teams are forced to use to run their robots making it an essential purchase.
